That depends. There are American Jews who are also anti-Israel. Haven't yet heard his thoughts, opinions, and votes regarding Israel.

Rahm Emanuel has dual Israeli-U.S. citizenship and served in the IDF during the Gulf War. Is that sufficient?

I'm getting a sickening feeling about Obama already and he's only been president-elect for two days. If he gets on his knees to Israel like all the other presidents, I'll do everything I can to oppose him, just like Bush.

you do know that rahm is ex-IDF? he's also quite the centrist in the dem party and will keep obama in line from not going too left too early, thereby messing up 2010 elections. i don't support many of rahm's policies/views, but he will be a top notch CoS IMO.

Just like some white people who try to convince others that they're not prejudiced towards blacks, by saying "some of my best friends are black," Obama selects Rham Emanuel as his Chief of Staff.

It appears as though his tactics are working on some of you.

And just to add, the reality of the perceptions of Jewish Americans as to the idea that Obama is anti-Jewish and/or anti-Israel. . .

how Jewish voters voted in this election:

78% of Jewish vote went to Obama, polls find

Quote:
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Jewish voters appeared to discount rumors about Barack Obama's heritage and acquaintances, delivering an overwhelming vote in favor of the president-elect.

Exit polls conducted nationwide show that about 78 percent of the Jewish vote was for Obama, up from the 74 percent John Kerry garnered in 2004. For months before the election, polls showed Obama had about 60 percent of the Jewish vote. Supporters say they reassured Jewish voters that Obama's values are similar to theirs.

So somehow he's managed to get Jews to vote for him and Hamas and Palestine to cheer for him. So which one is he really supporting?

If you had done a bit of research (which I've noticed many on the board are not interested in doing) you woud know that they have been friends for quite some time.
