The main thing with assault weapons is the high capacity magazines and the similar look and feel of the "real thing". I like my AKs, like I said, because I prefer reliability over all else and prefer not having to reload after every 5 or 10 rounds.
'Assault weapons' aren't automatic,none of those banned were automatic.
In other words,the firearms in question fired on ebullet with each pull of the trigger....nothing more.

child safety sounds good to me, criminal checks -good, wait times- good..
But anyways, I still feel guns wont be taken away.. there are not that many people actually into the idea of banning all guns.

It's hard for some to think guns should be allowed for anything but hunting

understand where they are coming from, as much as I can understand people who cant have kids, wonder why someone could abort a healthy baby from a healthy mom.. it just breaks your heart, both issues..

some of us that have handguns have a legit reason to have them--I live in a good middle class neighborhood in Vegas and in the past month within a 5 minute radius of my house there has been 1 child abduction, 1 home invasion, and a high school party shooting that left 2 injured

I do suspect an AWB will pass. However, door to door confiscation probably won't happen because people like Jim Webb, etc are too blue dog to ever think about losing their jobs over it.

Sorry hoss I was not making it personal, relax, I was just asking a serious question. Because one of my hobbies is guns and shooting at the gun ranges. I own a AK-47 and several AR-15's and they are excellent target rifles.
I believe many people are scared of guns so they think they are dangerous no matter who is using them. My first wife would completely panic when I had guns anywhere near her.
If people could understand one simple thing they might think differently about guns. Guns don't kill, people do. And I have had guns for 38 years and never killed one person.
