I so agree. I had an experience several months ago with an animal shelter. I don't think I'll ever be the same.
DO NOT SHARE. You know what I mean.
Ive never been able to go to PETA's website for fear of what they might have on their homepage. Now and then I want to see what's up with animal cruelty laws but can only go to legislation sites because I know they'll be only text, no pictures or descriptions.
It did have a happy ending for one dog, but my daughter and I just cried our eyes out. She said that was one of the most stressful days in her life.
You have to be a special kind of strong person to work in a shelter day in an day out. Like being a cop or a soldier, or child services person - you see too much.
Obama was on TV not to long ago and said he "might" adopt cause one of this daughters is allergic and so they need a hypoallergenic dog... if they can't find one in a shelter, they will buy instead... given the HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of shelters out there who probably also watched the show.. how hard is it to find "one" puppy that is hypoallergenic... we will see.. I will be amazed if he "doesn't" find one... Given his character, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens...
