I think the McCain/Palin supporters need to take another look at the results of this election. This was a LANDSLIDE victory. That means either 53 million people think Barack Obama is worthy of being President and/or 53 million people think John McCain is not worthy of being President. The electoral college was overwhelmingly in favor of Barack Obama.

I don't understand why the McCain/Palin supporters are warning people of this so called "impending doom". When things eventually start to get back on track, it will begin to resemble the Bill Clinton years. What is so bad and scary about that? Do you people really believe that Barack Obama will tear this country apart? Really?

What is wrong with the country responding to an intellectual, inspiring man? He is a born leader-some people have it, some don't. What is wrong with people of all colors and creeds getting behind our next president as Americans? So if you think Barack Obama's speeches are just a bunch of talk- what does that make John McCain's speeches? Stop calling him the "messiah"- he is a man. A man that doesn't make an ass out of himself and the USA every time he speeks in public.

If a republican candidate displayed the same qualities as Barack Obama- you all would be pretty damn excited too. Don't say you wouldn't. You got all excited about Sarah Palin but you are calling everyone out because they are excited about our new President. Your candidates were not strong enough to win this election.

The Republican party is coming apart at the seems. They are fighting with each other while the rest of the country is uniting with each other. They have no common direction. They have no clear leader. Are you people saying that the republican party is in better position to run this country right now? Really?

This election was not even close. Your party has been in charge for 8 years now-it didn't work. Time for a change. America wants a change.

I just find it impossible to believe that if the republican candidate was as strong, steady, articulate, and intelligent as Barack Obama is, that you all would not be pretty damn excited too.

A country in peril, a landslide loss in the election, a party in shambles, and old fashioned ideas and principles that don't really work in 2008 and you all are talking trash about the new president as if he will destroy our country. Are you serious?

Stuff communism in the toilet. It was no landslide and most of the country is not represented by this Constitution trampling tyrant called the obomination. Secession! Secession! Is the Answer!

A realistic and fair post. Followed by a paranoid rant of no substance from the right. Do they have nothing left but irrational fear?

It was a landslide.

Electoral votes: Obama 364 McCain 173

Popular vote: Obama 53% McCain 46%

What is the basis of your argument that it wasn't a landslide?

Didn't think so................

Why would it look like the Clinton years? Most of his changes came with a republican controlled congress. Just because he's a democrat that means it will be like the clinton years?

I believe Obama's win has a lot to do with how bad Bush and McCain have been as opposed to how good Obama is supposed to be. I heard Obama has written more books than significant legislation.

The whiners come from BOTH sides. So if we get rid of all of them on BOTH sides, perhaps we can truly see the middle America where most people exist.
