I'd still like to see the source for that ridiculous original post.
My father had always been a huge McCain fan and supporter- when Palin was named his running mate he took a step back. As the campaign unfolded, he changed his vote and it had everything to do with Palin being selected as VP candidate.
I know many people who voted for McCain because of Palin
I know many people who voted for McCain because of Obama
What's your point?
You can bring up "individual" statements all you want. The affect Palin had is undeniable. Simply look at her rallies. She brought excitement to the ticket.
I know two people, my daughter and I, who voted for Obama because of Palin. I was seriously considering McCain until she came along.
You have CNN coming out today and admiting many of the stories and reports about Palin were either outright lies or out of context. How very nice of the commie basstards after the election is over.
Sir, please re-read what you have written here. You claim that CNN "admits" many of the stories were false. "Admits" implies that CNN somehow reported the original story, they did NOT, it was I believe "Newsweek", there is nothing for CNN to "admit".

I can assure there are many in the media, mostly based out of the San Fran area that are going be lossing their jobs over this.
San Francisco area? CNN is based in Atlanta IIRC. Most of the reporters who wrote on the original "Newsweek" piece were not from SF. What has SF to do with this? Other than it's a favorite punching bag for uninformed right wingers who need a handy target.
Being popular among GOP voters, particularly 4 years prior to an election is no great shakes. Being popular with a party that less than 40% (IIRC) of the American population identifies itself as is not a great help either.
Being popular among voters of a party, whose primary candidates were afraid to identify themselves as believing in evolution, is possibly the kiss of death among THINKING, REASONING, Americans.
I think once those who voted for him find out who he is, they aren't going to be happy.
Obama is an extreme leftist. The only reason he won is because of McCain. Had we Republicans had a conservative on the ticket (Reagan conservatism, such as Sarah Palin is), the outcome would have been opposite of what is was. This was no landslide victory; it wouldn't have taken a lot to change the picture completely. Here in Ohio, with the exception of a few key areas, the state map was painted red, and this was also the case in many of the other key states.
Remember that McCain's campaign was going nowhere until Sarah Palin was announced. His numbers immediately spiked upward. This was because of Sarah Palin's message; and she didn't mince words. The crowds of people she drew (and they were huge crowds) loved it. Hers was the message that we had been waiting to hear; the message that McCain refused to deliver.
McCain wouldn't engaged. He wouldn't say what needed to be said. He had no message, and all anyone heard was rhetoric that was frankly contradictory to his record. When he finally did engage for a while (after Sarah Palin had shown him what to do) he totally lost any gain he had made when he made the statement at the one event, "You don't need to be afraid, if Obama wins. He's a good man; he will be a good President", or some such thing (I don't have the exact quote, but many will remember it). He totally let down his supporters, probably lost some, and destroyed Sarah Palin's momentum.
In all of McCain's speeches, there was never any mention of ACORN and Obama's involvement in that organization, no mention of William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright or Obama's other associations with criminals and thuggish types, and no mention of the mortgage meltdown (this event alone should have easily handed the victory to the Republicans, as the Democrats alone are responsible for it). There was no mention of the high gasoline prices, and our lack of exploration, drilling and production of our own resources, and the fact that it has been the Democrats for over 30 years that have blocked it, are still blocking it, and are therefor responsible for the position we are in today in the area of energy.
McCain could not argue against Obama's Cap and Trade plan; he supports a similar plan (and this whole idea is especially bad, because it is going to be costly to consumers in terms of our energy bills, which are already hurting most Americans pocket books).
Until the Republicans re-establish their conservatism, and rid the Party of the "moderates", who by now should realize that theirs isn't the message that wins elections, they will continue to be a minority party.
Sarah Palin's message is the right one, and the winning one. The sooner the Republican Party leaders realize that, the sooner they will once again start winning elections. After all, over 60% of Americans identify themselves as (at least) "mostly conservative".
Being popular among voters of a party, whose primary candidates were afraid to identify themselves as believing in evolution, is possibly the kiss of death among THINKING, REASONING, Americans.

Why is it that you arrogant leftists think that it is you who are the "thinking, reasoning" Americans?
If you were such "thinking, reasoning" people, why are you taking America down a path to destruction?
No, America's founderswere "thinking, reasoning" people, and all those that cherish what they established and who seek to preserve it for our children and grandchildren and all those that follow.
Those who are destroying it are doing so out of pure ignorance of what has been established, and why, and why it is important to preserve it.

If you are talking about my original post, the source is Rasmussen, as I think you will find mentioned.
