And this is why I cannot stand the left, liberals & Democrats. This is exactly what they stand for. This is the hate speech that everyone on the left says they never say.
The hate speech was started with the creation of this thread. What purpose does this thread serve? Should we bring up any one of a thousand times Bush has stuck his foot squarely in his mouth?
Reagan was the best president of the modern 20th century.
And his schedule was dictated by an astrologer, as Nancy Reagan wished. In 1988 Time Magazine had a cover entitled "Astrology in the White House" with Nancy Reagan's picture hovering over a picture of the White House. (See cover here: AllPolitics - Good Heavens! - May 19, 1988 )
An excerpt from one of the articles inside:
"The secret: First Lady Nancy Reagan's reliance on a San Francisco astrologer to determine the timing of the President's every public move. This was more than a charming eccentricity shared with the 50 million or so other Americans who, casually or in dead earnest, look to the alignment of the stars for guidance. As White House chief of staff for two years, before he was forced to resign in February 1987, Regan was in a position to see how the First Lady's faith in the astrologer's pronouncements wreaked havoc with her husband's schedule. At times, he writes, the most powerful man on earth was a virtual prisoner in the White House." Good Heavens! An astrologer dictating the President's schedule? - TIME
Personally I like the People cover with the Reagans on the front and "Oh My Stars" written above them. *L*
Nancy Reagan is a old irrelevant witch who hasn't been anywhere near the white house for 28 years
the way people talk about the Reagan's like heros is downright disgusting
You got that right. I thought the comment about having Nancy run a seance so Obama could get the economic counsel of deceased presidents was decently witty. It also pointed out the nonsense that Mrs. Reagan was known for. Of course, Ronald Reagan is NOT one the passed presidents anyone needs to talk with about economic matters; his beliefs amounted to voodoo economics of a very poor nature and have been soundly refuted since he foisted that on us.
Edit: The reverence towards him is overdone, he'll go down in history as an average president, though a great communicator and very likable. I'd have a beer with him. Anytime.
