At least he apologized - that's more than many others would've done.

Now time to move on and for him to plan to try to repair the damage done in the last 10 plus years or so.

If Obama made the joke then it's him who should apologize. He does not have a good sense of humor publically as does McCain, but making fun of people is no substitute.

It was an ill attempt to be funny. This is his first press conference since the election. Anyone who watch this, may have notice that Obama looked a bit nervous for the first few minuets. It is only natural to try to throw a joke here and there to break the tention that you're feeling. Hell, even Obama called himself a "mutt" when he was describing what kind of puppy he was going to get his daughters.
