I would like to have the opportunity to learn. I would like to have the opportunity to invest. But if my government is only interested in oil, my opportunity is greatly reduced. If 80% of us know we need to explore alternate ideas, but the country is controlled by 20% who have no interest in moving toward saving the planet then we are all in deep trouble. If we are not educated the 20% can control us. If we are educated the 80% can and did throw them out and get busy.

Remember that we've been told for a long time by the "powers that be" that the earth is doomed unless we give up some of our freedom and prosperity
right now. It the 70's it was global cooling, in the 80's it was not having enough oxygen to breathe because of jungle clearing, etc.
Is "saving the planet" just another religion? It seems like it to me.
But, I'm getting off topic.
