Obama was lauded for his grass-roots campaign which mobilized thousands and swept him and the Democrats into the White House. The same people, when faced with the results of a similar grass-roots effort cry foul and demand a boycott of an entire state.

"The voters have spoken" they tell us in this forum. "Quit whining and deal with it". "We won, you lose", they say. Well, California, the voters have spoken - deal with it!

I don't give a damn about Obama's grass roots campaign. I voted for him in spite of it and because he was running against an unhinged warmonger and a stewardess, not because of it. Anything remotely populist in a country as stupid as this one ought to be suspect. Prop 8 proves it.

This sounds like a grass roots campaign to encourage folks to boycott a state, kind of like what the mormon church did to gay couples. They are not holding guns to prevent ppl from going to Utah, you are not against grass roots campaign are you.

wars have always costed money, let me know if you want it to be fought there or on our doorstep here?
if you are not willing to pick up a rifle and help defend our way of life, then better to pay for it now and fight terrorism over there.

This isn't a double standard. You are comparing apples to oranges.

The grassroots Obama volunteers, did so on a national level, the STATE initiative in CA was well funded (on both sides) by out of state interest groups. I am not for boycotting Utah due to its large Mormon pop. but I am against outside financial interests funding any state issue outside of their state of residency if they are not willing to accept the responsibilities.

I dont see the connection. Obama isnt pro same-sex marriage; not all his supporters are either. Are you saying the two are related because they were both grassroots campaigns? That if you support one grassroots campaign you somehow support them all?
