First off, I must tell the Republican party that where you went wrong was going away from the traditional fiscal conservatism. The majority of Americans are fiscally conservative. The difference is more in social issues. Over the last 8 years, you allowed your party to become the same as the Democrat party. Spend, spend, spend. If you do not offer anything different than the Democrat party, why would you expect to win. I suspect this latest loss will make your side think about fiscal conservatism. This will come in handy in 2 and 4 years.

Now, for the Democrat side. Everyone is all excited about "The One". In the end, he is just a guy. He has no magical powers. People got all excited because he spoke so well with a TelePrompter, he was not a Republican and the excitement of making history by electing an African American was irresistible. Well, now he is the man and the fear was evident on his face during his press conference. Now it is not about being a rock star, but it is about actually having to do work. No more talk, but actual work. So here is Obama's problem. He will not win no matter what he does. The very left nutty side of the Democrat party has certain expectations. Expectations that are not in line with mainstream America (both Democrat & Republican). Pelosi and company are foaming at the mouth at passing every single left wing bill they have ever dreamed of. They will not be able to control themselves. Now if Obama goes along with this, then he will upset the people in the middle and on the right. He will have broken his promise to govern from the middle and be a President for all. On the other hand, if he keeps his word and governs for the middle and pushes a policy that is mainstream & represents the best interest and wishes of MOST Americans, he will anger Pelosi and the far left wing nutties. Pelosi is going to try to run Obama. She is not a team player. She never has been. A rift will happen in the Democrat party and they will tear themselves apart.

In the end, Oprah and the media have made this guy out to be the second coming. You have put him in a position where no matter what happens, he cannot achieve the greatness you have thrust upon him. He is going to anger one faction or another. Rifts will start and they will grow. This will be evident by a shift back to the right in the mid terms (assuming the Republicans learn fiscal conservatism again) and then an ousting in 4 years, by either the far left or mainstream America.

Success is not an option. Failure is a certainty.

I have no problem with Clinton. I would vote him in now. This is not Clinton. This is Jimmy Carter on steroids with a nutty Pelosi pulling the strings.

Failure? The Repubs have that all to themselves - witness 'can't show my face' McCain, and 'I'm still dizzy as a kite' Palin. HAHAHA!
