One of the biggest scams of the McCain campaign was the talk about not raising taxes and how Obama will raise your taxes. Although I understand that most McCain supporters are not educated, it works like this. McCain will not raise your taxes, however the National Debt keep growing and by the time he is done, the National Debt would have doubled. No plans of ending the Iraq War which adds a few billion dollars/month to the already out of control debt. On top of that, he was planning to repeal the AMT which would have added some hundreds of billions to the National Debt due to lost tax revenue. From an economic perspective, I cannot think of a more idiotic and irresponsible economic policy than what he had in mind. Country first? NOT REALLY!

Talking about McCain's plans at this point in time seems as relevant as talking about Walter Mondale's. What's the point?

I didnt see Obamas plan to cut out the national debt. Last I heard he wanted to take the money from A, and give it to B.. not "country first" and pay off debt. Lets talk about country first when we talk about Obamas plan to pay off the debt. Link me to one.. I'll wait here quietly...

So you want to hear about Obama paying off debt in the midst of 2 wars and the worst economic crisis in this generation?

Talk about someone with unrealistic expectations.

I pretty much agree.

Now, if somebody had something really cool on Dukakis' plans...

A very informitive read you should take a look.

Quote:
The independent Tax Policy Center projects a budget deficit under Obama of $520 billion in 2013, compared to a presently projected deficit of $147 billion.
Quote:
The problem, however, says MacGuineas, is that Obama "is very specific on his spending proposals, but much less specific on his savings proposals." Furthermore, the Illinois senator has not made his new spending proposals contingent on securing the corresponding spending cuts.

Quote:
Put another way, Obama's new spending plans are very concrete: a new College tax credit ($134 billion in 2013), expanded health care coverage ($115 billion), a refundable tax credit for workers ($72 billion). Many of his proposed spending cuts belong to the pie-in-the-sky category.
