The rest of the article didn't seem to match the optimism of the first paragraph. Lots of "could"s and "may"s in there.

Time will tell (maybe this should be my new mantra)

Yes, just imagine! All the people currently without insurance will be able to make regular and frequent visits to a doctor. Doctors will not have to face the restrictions they do now. They can order any number of lab tests, X-rays, and so on. Hospital beds can be filled. No more cut-backs, no more worries.

And even though the stock market is crashing and didn't get the post-election bump that was expected, Obama can simply tax whatever businesses remain and there will be more than enough money for all this new free health care for everyone. And don't forget the 30 million or so illegals about to be handed their citizenship, they will be able to have unlimted free health care too -- and all those family members about to join them here.

All that free nationalized health care is going to come in very handy with the lay-offs being announced and the lay-offs which are yet to come. Unemployed people will greatly appreciate being able to have their regular visits to the doctors and have everything they want and need in the way of health care.

Maybe it will happen -- we thought that all that jubilant Obama supporters were going to run out and buy stock Nov 5, maybe they're just waiting for Jan 21 to make sure Bush doesn't get the credit. Too bad some people will be laid off and lose their jobs before Obama moves into office, but as long as the democrats get their investments going on Jan 21, then there should be a booming economy that day and they can be rehired.

I think they're all aware of the things you're concerned about.
