I wonder why someone would berate you for spending money "abroad" and "out of the country", when American companies have been taking money and jobs to other countries for years????
I visited France and Spain four years ago and while I wasn't treated badly I was very aware that America was not a country that was respected by many. When I was in Argentina a couple of years ago, the people were wonderful but, again, America was not on their top ten places to visit or live list.

I have talked to people from other countries over the last few years...and a friend just got back from a trip abroad(to other countries) and we both found the same thing....they don't hate Americans...they hate bush and his policies. But there must be a certain level of disrespect since this country did elect the jerk twice....some blame us all

We are traveling to Ireland and Spain, I don't think people know exactly how bad Bush is preceived there.

"Bushisms"

You know Bush has to be the worlds worst President and im sure will go down in history as such...but god love him he was always good for a laugh...found this on the net today!!!

While large corners of the world are busy celebrating Obama's presidential victory there will be some people feeling slightly deflated to see George Bush step down as US president.

Over the past eight years Bush has provided us with endless amusement as a result of his faux pas or ‘Bushisms' as they've been dubbed. Here are twenty of our favourites.

Guilty here, I do care about people thousands of miles away think. But my parents were immigrants, so maybe that's why I am missing the "I don't care what you foreigners think" gene?

People right here can't eat and you are spending thousands....hmmm....sounds like you think you and your daughter deserve it..Republican huh? Still gives no valid reason...just give it up.
(Shakes head slowly). My daughter, my sons and I all do volunteer work. I had them with me since they were infants when I did volunteer work within my community. I have pictures of them picking up trash in the city parks when the trash bags were bigger than they were and carrying baked goods we were given by the local Target store into various senior apartment complexes when they were in grade school. We adopt a family every Christmas and provide the goods to make it a "Merry Christmas". For them it's no big deal, it's part of who they are.

I am blessed in having a career that pays me very well and if I choose to spend it on my family in whatever way I want, thank you God, I can!

Look in the mirror and to those who you support in this forum and you won't find anyone who gives to their community as much as we do. So save your sanctimonious platitudes for the 'non-welfare' government wards and their ilk.

Yes, I'd like to see those, too. Since we libs are lying around looking at our bare feet, smoking pot, having sex all the time and not working, exactly how the hell is it that we're going abroad? What, as stowaways? Or are airlines accepting food stamps now?

Get your insults straight, people. We're either elitist or undereducated, spendthrifts or dirt poor, on Welfare or overflowing with cash with which to travel to Morocco. One insult at a time, please, you're stumbling all over yourselves and not making much sense here.
