As a business owner, I am cutting back on the amount of work I am subcontracting to others, doing more of the work myself. I figure I will need the extra money, and the more I have others do, the more money going out of my business to pay for their services. In the interest of cash flow, I'm keeping more of it to myself. I spent all day today doing work that I have always subcontracted to others to do. I do this because I am not optimistic about what is going to happen with Obama at the helm. I don't think taxing people, ANY people, is going to help the economy; on the contrary, I think it is going to make things much worse.

I also have seen my 401k drop dramtically in the three days since Obama was elected. For now I will leave that alone, but I am watching it closely.

I have not changed anything significant due to the election... and I'm elated that Obama won.

We've cut back a bit on spending, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the election - it has to do with the possibility of a serious recession that's been on the horizon for a while...

And have some perspective please - the DOW decreased a tad over 4% since Obama was elected... It's dropped almost 40% in the past 13 months...

I have plenty of perspective. The stock market had its biggest drop EVER after a president was elected with the election of Obama. Investors like CAPITALISM, not socialism.

If you think the economic policies of a president have nothing to do with the stock market, you are crazy!

Correct, the stock market is dropping in a response to Socialism being implemented in a few months. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the current economic situation. You live in a very interesting box.

You should feel sorry for yourself, not me. At least I'm not drinking the Kool-Aid, expecting everything to be hunky dory, so I won't be blind-sided like you will be.
