Im a registered indepedent who has voted republican most of the time. In this election I voted for obama though. One of the main reason is because the republicans are becoming the angry white male party. Rush limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'reilly to name a new. Every time I watch these guys or hear them. They're always angry and yelling or screaming. They talk over there guess and don't let them get a word in. Blaming america's probems on other races. Even though america is ran by people who are the same race and gender as them.

Does anybody agree that the republicans are becoming the angry white male party?

No, I don't think so.

However, the Democrats are slowly transitioning into the flaccid, guilty white metrosexual party. Do you like to be generalized like that? Then don't do it.

I'm an angry white male and I voted Democrat for the first time ever. There's plenty of anger to go around. I think Obama might be the kind of leader to cool us off a little by doing the right thing for the greatest number of Americans.

ITA. For the majority of Americans of all races, the party-line, and racial/global divisiveness came to a screeching halt on November 4th. If the republicans don't come up with a new scheme in order to regain power prior to 2012 (and no Sara is not the answer) then they will fail miserably once again. The fact that Obama won handily signals the era of the racist angry beavers is a dying breed and they are now the minority in this country.

I predict the majority of older ones will die from their bitterness before 2012 anyway.

A great example of misplaced energy. They should be angry at the Republican party and themselves instead of those outside of their ideology, the state of the country today is a result of 30+ years of Conservative ideology. An ideology that was always vacuous and infused with heavy doses of sociopathy. Conservative white males have basically just woken up to the fact that they have been lied to, they have been led astray in order to further an agenda that neither had their interest in mind nor their personal welfare.

It will be interesting to see if those angry white conservative males will be able to focus their anger into something more constructive and unifying like Obama has. But judging from the many post that I have read here at C-D, I sincerely doubt it. I mean after all, we are talking about the most backwards group of voters in the US.

because your "base" is a bunch of Busch drinking NASCAR fans who go to rallies and yell "kill him" and "he's a terrorist" and then run out and by guns the moment a black man named Obama is elected POTUS

that's a bigot to me
