Catholic Bishops Cut Off ACORN Funding

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development, which supports anti-poverty and social justice programs nationwide, will no longer make grants to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, known as ACORN, said Auxiliary Bishop Robert Morin of New Orleans.

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development, which has an annual budget of about $10 million, had planned to grant about $1 million to local groups across the country through ACORN this fiscal year, Morin said. None of that money will be distributed.

Good, this entire group needs to be investigated nationwide and if corruption is found they should lose all federal funding.

They should lose all federal funding just because they proved themselves to not be independent and told people to vote for Obama.

And as the repubs cry about ACORN:

Ontario police arrest man in voter fraud case

Mark Jacoby, who owns a firm hired by the California Republican Party, violated state laws with his own registration, authorities say.

Jacoby's arrest by state investigators and the Ontario Police Department late Saturday came after dozens of voters said they were duped into registering as Republicans by people employed by YPM. The voters said YPM workers tricked them by saying they were signing a petition to toughen penalties against child molesters.

I wonder if ACORN is going to play the race card and accuse the Catholic Church of being racist now because they no longer want to financially fund them.
