I'm one of those people. I much prefer to write out my thoughts than to use the phone. It allows me to say what I want to say without being interrupted or forgetting everything I want to express. I love to write, and I HATE talking on the phone, so it makes sense for me.
I feel the same way. I think too that it helps prevent "misunderstandings" and that could be very important with a POTUS. You know, it honestly never occurred to me that a president WOULDN'T have immediate computer access. I'm an old lady and we are suppose to be the ones who are "out of touch" with the computer age. I've been using computers since they first started making PCs and I had just assumed that a president would be at least as up-to-date as me.
Is it true that Obama's personal correspondence will also be subject to the PR Act?
As I understand it, yes, anything he says or writes while he's President becomes a matter of permanent official record. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

In addition to concerns about e-mail security, he faces the Presidential Records Act, which puts his correspondence in the official record and ultimately up for public review, and the threat of subpoenas.
