Interesting. I thought it was the party of rich white men. Now it's the uneducated? I guess a consistent thought doesn't matter as long as it bashes Republicans.

Since 46% of the voting population voted for the Republican candidate, wouldn't you agree that this is a pretty broad brush? I thought only bigots used the broad brush to label a group of people. I guess the selectively tolerant do to.

This thread as you well know comes from an article in a respected magazine, just because it reaches conclusions you don't want to hear doesn't mean there's something wrong with it.

The term "white trash" refers to, among other things, low income, uneducated whites who are socially and culturally lacking. The GOP caters to this group, indeed has groomed them...how else do you explain the choice of a "white trash" hero for a VP candidate? In fact an argument can be made that Palin and her family display many white trash characteristics.

the economist well respected? lmao. it's nothing more than a far left tabloid from the UK. it's about as credible as the BBC, but probably not even as much. can you defend democrats catering to black trash? low income, uneducated, culturally lacking. I can explain sarah palin. she was a gimmick. they wanted to create a buzz about an "attractive" female for president. you keep proving my point more and more. the parties are the exact same. one caters to white trash, the other caters to black trash. until you can defend that, I am looking more and more accurate.

Here's the bottom line...You've done nothing to disprove the conclusions reached in the article. You've criticized the magazine, defended the GOP "white trash" VP candidate, and claimed that if white trash exists there must be black trash as well. Therefore, I can only assume you agree with the Economist when it says... "the title of the “stupid party” now belongs to the Tories’ transatlantic cousins, the Republicans." and "too many Republicans are still refusing to acknowledge that idiocy has consequences, too."

You may have won the election, but the people who voted for McCain have a lot more integrity than the ones who voted for Obama. We voted for what is right. You won, but America lost.
