I have never liked the term "white trash". I don't think anyone should be referred to as "trash". There are as many definitons of the term as there are people who use it.

3. Most people from my church who are decent, pretty educated people. Some of whom like Obama, but couldn't bring themselves to vote for him
And then there are the conspiracy "Obama is a muslim" nutcases, the talk radio fanatics and other fringe folks. But there aren't 57 million of those. Many people vote for different reasons. Everyone has their own issues. Christians have abortion, libertarians have small government etc...so it's very mistaken to tag an entire party as racist white trash because it just isn't so.

I really don't care who anyone voted for, but I don't get what you mean about #3. Why couldn't some people "bring themselves to vote for Obama" if they liked him? Was it because he is black? Because they believed some of the rumors floating around the internet or Sarah and John's untrue attacks on him? It seems to me if you like a candidate, unless you like another one better, you will vote for him!

looks like it changes around quite a bit. I still fail to see the point, and stand by my accusation of the BBC being a glorified tabloid station.

I know exactly what you were trying to do. you were trying to show everyone how many racists lived in maine and vermont in 1984. thanks for pointing that out.

I don't even see the Red/Blue divide since the states flip around ever 4 years. The point is, about 85% of Americans vote on the issues and complications of the previous administration. The elections 1980, 1988, 1992, and more recently 2008 all prove it.
