Thats like saying almost all democrats are hard core liberals. That statement would also be unfair and in error.
Obama or McCain was the choice given. Both were anything but representative of average america.
Many americans do not favor social programs. Many americans voted Obama because Bush has done such a poor job. Not because they agreed with all of Obama's rhetoric. Many voted against McCain because he was viewed as too closely aligned to Bush. Not because they disagreed with many of McCains ideas.
Once again we were given a choice between the lessor of 2 evils.
I am willing to Give Obama a fair chance to prove himself worthy of the votes he won. That said I do not trust that he will represent the average american. I trust even less his running mate. But time will tell. I hope they listen to the voters rather than the special interest groups.

just as I expect, another person who asks questions that have no answers and begs for links. an educated voter would have seen through the BS and voted for a 3rd party if they had any soul. what you might deem as an educated person, might not be what I deem as an educated person. a 22 year old fresh out of ultra liberal university is not an educated voter, he's a statistic. get over it.

Ohh get over it. You lost...whichever 3rd party candidate you voted for.

And BTW, who made you the arbiter of an "educated person"?

I said we might have different opinions on what we consider an educated person. did you actually read the words? I was over it a year ago when I realized that we had the choice of identical candidates.

If you were to take the time to actually read it, you would see that the article is not so much about bashing the Republican party as it is a warning...a caution of the potential permanent minority status and even eventual demise of a party that gets it's ideas primarily from talk radio and appeals to a small segment of society, referred to in the article as "white trash."

I have neighbors, hubby is a doctor and the wife is an accountant and they voted for McCain. I know they are socially on the liberal side, which confused me because I wondered how they could support McPalin knowing her whacky social conservatism. They said that they will vote for whoever lowers their taxes ... I about hit the floor. I told them that they should be voting for Bob Barr then because the libertarians raison d'etre is the abolish the 16th amendment .. I got a blank stare. Actually, what they were doing is voting the way their moms and dads have voted ... lots of status quo voters out there.

White trash to me = Whites who chose to live in squalor, refuse to adapt to a proven better way. People who refuse to learn from mistakes. People who feel a sat. dish is more important than using the money to buy a toothbrush for the kids. Whites who feel its their right to live off welfare rather than seek a job. Whites who feel its acceptable to reproduce regardless of ability to pay the costs, ability to support additional children. These are people who are bankrupt of moral values, personal accountability and worse still intrude their sad, ignorant lifestyles upon society.
So to sum it up. Palin may be narrow minded. She may be a bible banger. She may be an elitist snob. But the Palin family is not white trash.
Palin has admirable qualities. Her devotion to her disabled child should be both respected and acknowledged. The fact that she has risen to the top in a decidedly conservative state speaks volumes. VP material she is not.

Lots of voters out there are afraid to think for themselves.
