48% of America as "white trash" that is hilarious. Even though the argument falls on deaf ears, "White" is a racial slur. But then again I am crazy enough to think that people should be allowed to vote however they want.
Although, browsing through some family photos... I realize that my family is/was white trash. Hard-working, struggling, having three kids. And as I saw that, I thought to myself "so these are the folks the Liberals hate?". The very people who contribute to the economy, the very people who make life possible in the US. This thought continued as I browsed photos from the farmers in my family (Missouri residents, and ranchers in Wyoming). Amazing that people can hate those types so much.
But then again, why is it that in real life "Liberals" aren't so hateful? Sure, the "in your face" type are obnoxious, but in reality my "Liberal" buddies are just as friendly as my church friends. Is this hate trend only on CDF?
I dont know where you live but I live in Oklahoma, trailer trash, monster trucks meth capitol, small town racist.. red state of the world. But I do agree being called white-trash or trailer trash is about as bad as being called welfare queen.
But white trash, redneck and all these things defiantly speak for a certain culture.
honestly I dont know what else to call these people.

I can't rep you again, but your post here is VERY not-white trash . I really appreciate when a poster looks at the positives and negatives of both sides, rather than just clinging to one argument or bashing the other side. (P.S. IN MY OPINION - You summed up Palin perfectly.)

If Obama had paraded 5 children one of which was an unwed pregnant teenage daughter across the stage...who dropped out of school and the others falling behind because of their travels. Can you hear the noise?
Palin believes creationism should be taught in public school, gays shouldnt marry but in alaska it's still legal to marry and have children with your first cousin... ummmm...

Again about Palins daughter? Teens will be teens. We try to teach them, we try to shelter them. Hormones often times win over good judgment. Now a telling story might have been if Palin disowned her daughter. Or if she locked her away like a dirty secret.
Palin is not alone her creationism beliefs. I don't subscribe to them and never will but she has a right to those beliefs.
Some Libs believe in eugenics. A horrible cold blooded philosophy. Does that make them evil people? LOL some of them. But some look at it from a stand of x amount of resources v.s Y amount of needs. I don't subscribe to that either. I agree that Palin failed as a parent to ensure a tutor was provided for the children. This does not equate to white trash. It equates to poor planning.
The Palins are a blue collar family. Less than perfect, flawed in some regards. By all appearances they are a loving family who takes care of their own. They are clean, hardworking and do have merit.
I don't care what she believes in, but I care when these people ignore Separation of Church and State and try to make America a Theocracy. She isn't even talking about teaching creationism in social studies or a theology class, she is saying to teach it in science class in grade school. Just give me a break-- that is trying to force her religious ideas on our children.
And you know what, I am a mother, most mothers can see it wasn't just poor planning it was something worse than that.
