The "White Trash Pride" Party
Interesting article recently in The Economist about the death of intelligence within the Republican Party. Certainly many of it's leaders are suspect (Palin is a good example) and the GOP's appeal seems to have been whittled down to just plain racist white trash...something we see demonstrated daily.

The Republican Party’s current “redneck strategy” will leave it appealing to a shrinking and backward-looking portion of the electorate.

They take their opinions from talk-radio hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and the deeply unsubtle Sean Hannity. And they regard Mrs Palin’s apparent ignorance not as a problem but as a badge of honor.

OUCH!
The author must be reading this board (LOL).
"But the odds in favour of an imminent renaissance look long. Many conservatives continue to think they lost because they were not conservative or populist enough—Mr McCain, after all, was an amnesty-loving green who refused to make an issue out of Mr Obama’s associations with Jeremiah Wright. Richard Weaver, one of the founders of modern conservatism, once wrote a book entitled “Ideas have Consequences”; unfortunately, too many Republicans are still refusing to acknowledge that idiocy has consequences, too."

Both parties have problems but they are not the same...your continued mantra is falling on deaf ears. There's no other way to put it, the Republicans have become the party of uneducated white trash.
John McCain did best among uneducated voters in Appalachia and the South.

Umm...
It's "there are" not "their are".
An innocent typo most surely, but still, a pretty humorous and ironic error considering the context and content of the sentence.
LOL

I got news for you. do you think the poor inner city people who voted for obama hold phd degrees? give a freaking break. I would love for you to try to separate the two parties for me. both warmongering. both for huge government. both for big corporations. both for restricting liberty. I am failing to see the difference here. if I use your logic about the republican party, then I can use the exact same logic with the democrat party. the democrat party has become the party of uneducated black trash. see how easy that was!

Umm...
I have NO idea what you reply meant.
Did you mean to say "thanks" or that I "think"?
