Is there a credible Republican Hispanic politician? No one comes to mind.

I don't think there is any such specimen.

You don't know that. You are assuming Obama will live up to all his promises and everything will start smelling like a rose. Obama's Presidency could end up something like Jimmy Carter's, which would ensure a GOP victory in 2012.

Another reason the GOP is screwed in 2012: they won't have the DOJ stacked with vote-purging toadies working for them.

If the GOP circles their wagons tighter around a social conservative ideology and if they refuse to get back on their fiscally conservative horse (although I'm thinking they shot it), then they can count me out AGAIN in 2012.

They need to do the following:
-Disassociate themselves with Palin. Or if she does run in 2012, shoot her down immediately.
-Become more center-right on social issues. Throw the social issues to individual states. This doesn't mean throw their values under the bus. However, true conservatives act locally and accept the will of the people.
-Become fiscally conservative again.
-Support troop withdrawl from Iraq. Admit it was a big mistake from here on out. After that, act like conservatives by keeping their noses out of other country's affairs unless absolutely necessary.

I have a feeling not much will change for 2012.

Thoughts? If the GOP spends the next 4 years doing the usual, claiiming to be for less government while desiring to stick government's nose where it doesn't belong (abortion, same-sex marriage, etc.), and claiming to be fiscally conservative while actually being happy spending like drunken sailors, they will once again brand themselves a lousy alternative and once again be soundly whupped.

Come on burdell. The Republican's could care less about any social issue except protecting the privilege of the big money class. The rest of their claims of the one right way are just ear wash for the fools following them.

They just pi$$ me off because I'd welcome a choice and their constant BS about these issues along with their continuing to march in lock-step with the fear mongering drunk Senator from Wisconsin give me none.
Give me a fiscally conservative, socially liberal platform and I'm all ears.
