The guy in the background is classic- he's back there bleeding out turkeys, and just smiling at the camera like nothing's wrong while the Queen of Duhsilla just keeps babbling. At least she didn't use "fungible" this time......

And yes, SNL had better do something with this- it'd be a shame to let such stupidity go to waste.

She is a real character, I will give her that. Who in their right mind would do something like this though?

"Building this state that's continually being built"

"Reigning in the growth of government" (said that one twice)

"great appreciation for this great country" ('great appreciation' said twice, lost count of how many times she used the word 'great')

heh
"So much has gone on that is, um, political."

She mentions that she'll probably be "criticized for this" and I assume she means the turkey slaughtering interview. She knows what she's doing, she's reveling in it.
She reminds me so much of Dubya.
What a character.
I'm just so thankful that she'll be in Alaska rather than DC.

What a trip. Don't get me wrong, I eat meat, and may very well eat one of those slaughtered turkeys next week. But I think it rather odd that she allow herself to be filmed giving a speech in which she knew would air nationally in front of someone slaughtering turkeys. Let's face it, watching animals get killed and bleed is unpleasant for most people.

Yes watching animals get killed and bleed is unplesant. But you pretend that your meat from the store was killed more humanely.

This is the leftist mindset. Mind numbing.

I was waiting for someone to bring in "leftist mindset."
I don't see where there has to be a big conflict between ideologies here.
Poor taste can and will be demonstrated by lefties as well as righties.
I freely admit that I am not a vegetarian--but I realize that my turkey, all wrapped nicely in plastic, had to be butchered, bled, and plucked.
I just do not see a tremendous need to have that illustrated for me by Gov Palin. It's not the end of the world or anything like that.
It's just The Onion or SNL in real life, that's all.
And to have a person like that so very close to the White House--whew.

I pretend nothing. I know exactly where my meat comes from. I'm thankful I don't have to kill it myself, and I certainly don't entertain myself by watching other people do so.

I fail to understand what you are insinuating in your post, are you insinuating that because I don't enjoy watching animals getting slaughtered, I'm pretending they don't? I don't enjoy watching paint dry either, so in that am I also pretending that it does not?

LOL, she does have a gift for being politically unsavvy, doesn't she? Even a junior level politician knows that checking out camera angles is as important as making sure your fly is zipped. Perception is everything, baby!

But... since she's no longer in line for VP all I have to say is God bless her, and talk about good news for Tina Fey. Looks like we have material for another SNL, and just in time. The news has been too gloomy lately, a few laughs is just what we need.
