Passive wimpy men ALSO want a strong woman, and desperately need a "mommy" figure to tell them who to be and what to think. It appears to be the relationship dynamic between these two. Obama makes a very good puppet and front man, due to his special oratory talents, but easily influenced by the power behind the curtains (or under the sheets) so to speak. The fact that Michelle is a "strong" woman, very aggressive and caustic, is not at all contested, and is plain to see this is her core being. Her attempts to cover her acrimony must be difficult indeed for such a person, as it always comes through...seen clearly in her intense, grimaced facial expressions.
This is just silly and says much more about you than it does about President elect Obama.
Voting for Obama may mean that you also voted for Michelle. She seems to be the "power behind the throne" in that marriage--more so, than any first lady since Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor seemed to have been a nice woman, from what I"ve read, and a very strong one. Not so angry as Michelle though.
Well, then at least I can say definitively, that I did *not* vote for Michelle!
Honestly, I doubt this was a brainfart..Why can't she be miffed at her country and still love it and want to improve it. Politically a mistake, maybe, but probably what she meant to say. Minorities, especially blacks in this country have endured so much that their is bitterness. I like her because she seems real in every sense. We have to be honest in this country at some point to get beyond our past. Not acknowledging the truth is not how to do that. Only praising our country and overlooking its misgivings is counterproductive IMO.
I agree. I've had this arguement with people who believe it's unpatriotic to disagree with our government. What rubbish, we need to argue and debate and speak up about what doesn't work and at the end of the day reach a solution. (Hopefully) You know....like a family. We are a pretty disfunctional one but aren't they all?

Some of the friends/acquaintances of the Obamas go beyond 'disagreeing', imo.
I cannot support Farakahn's solutions, for instance.

I agree with you regarding Farakahn. There are a lot of people out there whose views are horrible. The point is they are entitled to those views. That doesn't mean they are entitled to act upon them, but that discussion is for another thread.
