I keep seeing all these threads of fire the conservatives. Don't listen to talk radio.

Somethings to point out.

Bush ran as conservative and won twice.

Bush did not govern with a conservative hand. He was very liberal expanding government and spending.

McCain ran a democrat light and lost.

A lot of the democrats that have one republican seats are blue dog democrats. Pro gun and choice democrats.

The exit polls show that more Americans call themselves conservative than liberal. Moderates being the largest portion.

So someone tell me what it wrong the the conservative right?

Not a thing really. The problem is that most people think the conservative right are the same as Bush and company, when in reality Bush and company, and those that love him and his style, happen to be Neo-Cons and not real conservatives. I hate the Neo-Cons myself. You are absolutely right about Bush really being a liberal. Hell, just look at the spending bills he signed.

McCain and his [MOD CUT] sidekick ran around calling everyone connected with Obama socialist and Marxist, backpedaled on torture, campaigned to the right of Bush on Iraq, and implied that we ought to hang our heads in shame because we were not going to threaten war with Russia over Georgia (!)

If that's Democrat light, I'd love to know where you're getting your perceptions about Democrats from.

They never said anything about war with Russia.

He held and still does Obama's weak stance on immigration.

He proposed MORE stimulus spending than Obama mainly because Obama was never forced to to revel specifics.

At they debated neither could really draw specifics. Hell look at the second debate Obama six times said "my opponent and I agree on this"

The war in Iraq was their major difference. That is one issue and it lost importance before the election. McCain was not a visible alternative merely and Obama lite with less extremist friends.

As for McCain, what do you think "We are all Georgians" was supposed to mean?

This is the crew I fall in with, but still have a few issues with them ,like FISA and other such issues. Most in this coalition represent my views closer than other politicians.

There is really nothing horrible about conservative repubs to my way of thinking other than the fact they are happy letting business run over the top of them and run the country...They also lean towards allowing illegals into our country so big biz can benefit by cheap labor...Were it not for their ass kissing of BIG business by crapping on your average American I would vote for them every time because I like their stance against criminals and prior to the Reagan era wackos I liked their views on family values, which has now just became an inbred catch phrase for radicals that have no concept of what it really means...it's the Reaganesque right wing neoCON trash that I despise and have no patience with AT ALL.They seem by and far the least educated(about ANYTHING),least flexible in their radical views and are by FAR the most gullible people of any other group living in this country.Steal from the working man to give to the rich types while most of them are broke (followers, not the leaders) and vote against their best interests constantly, just complete assinine idiots.Track some of the posters back on here that talk glowingly about Bush or Reagan and who complain nonstop about Obama raising the tax back to where it used to be(letting the rich break expire basically) and act as if they are people who would be affected by it and all of a sudden you see them in their home state forum talking about being laid off from some manufacturing job where they made decent money 8 years ago and they are now flat broke and working temp jobs to survive....how retarded and clueless can they get????

As for rightard radio,I've never heard a conservative on the radio, all I've ever heard was insane lying blather by lying morons trying to make a buck off of weak minded people who buy into their own stupidity...If there was no money in it,do you really believe that these idiots would be on an AM station in the middle of Buttwad,Arkansas still trying to preach their message to the sheeple???? Lord no,they would be spinning top 40 hits on an FM station somewhere for a paycheck and a job where they didn't have to get dirty or actually work. It's he who shouts the loudest and tells the biggest whoppers most convincingly to their followers on "conservative" radio. All about the dollars and the truth be damned.

He lost(stole the election) in 2000 and scared and lied his way to election in 2004. He kept turning up the "terror color code meter" every time Kerry got close in the polls. What ever happended to that thing?

There is nothing wrong with the conservative right... We are mostly a center-right nation - nothing is wrong with conservatism...

However, the Republicans are in no way, shape or form conservative... that's why they just got their butts whooped big time...

And at the very least they must root out any remaining NeoCons amongst them if they hope to have any appeal from the middle.

That is what I'm saying. Yet you look at this board and everyone seems to think that the Republicans need to run away from the conservative right!
