matter to you? Would it matter that he lied to the American people, to the voters? Would it matter to you that he defrauded millions of dollars from campaign contributors? Would it matter that Obama and the DNC conspired to deceive the electorate?
Just curious. Would it matter to you Obama supporters?
What if the sky fell in? What is the purpose of this "what if" post? He wasn't, he didn't and all is well.
Currently, Title 8 of the U.S. Code fills in those gaps. Section 1401 defines the following as people who are "citizens of the United States at birth:"
Anyone born inside the United States
Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person's status as a citizen of the tribe
Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.
Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national
Any one born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year
Any one found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21
Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.
Anyone falling into these categories is considered natural-born, and is eligible to run for President or Vice President. These provisions allow the children of military families to be considered natural-born, for example.
Let me repeat that:
Anyone falling into these categories is considered natural-born, and is eligible to run for President or Vice President.
In order for a child to be considered as a "natural born citizen", that child's parents must BOTH be U.S. citizens at the time of the child's birth. Obamas father was not a U.S. citizen at the time of Obama's birth. Furhtermore, we don't even have consclusive evidence that Obama was even born in Hawaii.
Even if Obama was born in Hawaii his father was a non-american British/Kenyan citizen. Non-NBC status confirmed!
Kootr, Just out of curiosity, what are you going to do when the Supreme Court either kicks this case or rules that Obama IS eligible to be president? Are you going to finally accept the truth or are you going to continue tilting at windmills?
I have no idea what the Supreme Court will do. I know what I feel they should do - and that is to confirm that Obama meets the Constitution requirements. If the SCOTUS does that we will ALL know whether Obama meets the test. If the SCOTUS does not, then it will ALWAYS be a huge cloud over his head and millions of Americans will never accept him as President. Me included!!! Therefore, if Obama feels he meets the test of the Constitution he should proves his eligibility and stop avoiding the questions about it. Pretty simple!!!
pirate girl just quoted the part of my link that says they are eligilbe to be president of the US.
She has not looked into the Constitution's requirements for the POTUS.
If a child is born in the U.S. and one of the parents is a U.S. citizen but the other parent IS NOT a U.S. citizen, that child IS a U.S. citizen, but that child IS NOT a NATURAL BORN U.S. CITIZEN. See the difference?
Therefore, IF Obama was born in Hawaii and not Kenya, then he is a U.S. citizen, but he is not a Natural Born U.S. Citizen.
You really need to research the requirements pertaining to POTUS...
Can you do us all a favor and post the actual source you're citing.

So although it has been clearly posted, you still argue the criteria to be called a natural born citizen.
Did I miss the press release giving Kootr the authority to rewrite the constitution?
There is nothing in section 1401 that states that both parents have to be US Citizens in order for their child to be a Natural Born Citizen with regard to children born in the United States of America.
