That's traditional Vietnamese garb. Then again, don't fault us for being prejudiced when you and your lib friends insult a decorous Asian tradition as resembling wizard's robes.
WTF!!!! Over 58,000 Americans were killed in action in Viet Nam and Bush is wearing a tradition robe as a sign of respect to honor Viet Nam!!! Impeach the bsatard NOW. How dare he!!!
If I had made this statement in one of my books: From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.'
I might would drop the Hussein part and go with an H....but he has the option of doing whatever he chooses to do. It's HIS Inauguration.
And NO....I'm not calling him a Muslim. I'm simply saying if I had made the same statement, I would balance it out.

I love it when folks on this board repeat quotes from Obama's books without having the SLIGHTEST CLUE as to the context of the quote.
Do you have ANY IDEA of what Obama was writing about when he wrote that?
Any Idea at all?
Here is the full quote (in context):
"Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
In other words he's stating that he will NOT stand by idly while innocent individuals are picked out and picked ON simply because other individuals of their religion (or from the land of their ancestors) have committed terrorists acts - that Obama will NOT let things like the shame of the Japanese roundup and Internment be repeated all over again (this time against Muslims).
This is a noble, decent, and honest stand for him to take - and anyone who is a noble, decent, and honest American should easily see that it's the RIGHT thing to do. I know I would PROUDLY stand beside him in that effort.
Those who seek to use this quote against Obama are either completely ignorant of what he is actually saying - or completely unAmerican in their outlook.

Appease, reboot, same difference. As I said, I have no problem with him using his middle name. I do it all the time. But I do it for myself, not to appease or reboot my image or the countries image with anyone.
Following tradition is fine, but again not to reboot.
FOX News WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama says he will try to "reboot America's image" among the world's Muslims and will follow tradition by using his entire name — Barack Hussein Obama — in his swearing-in ceremony.
Just about everything a president does has some symbolism to it.
