Yes; you are missing what Israel has said about that;they will not allow iran to acquire nuclear power. They are quite capable of taking care of themselves as they have in the past and are not western europe as seen when attacked numerous times. Remeber that they have aready shown that they will atack reactors and can successfully. What Umbrealla are you takihng about;I didn't see any when they were attacked by missles just recently.We would have attacked russia if they had done that under NATO treaty agreements. Israel is not europe and is capable and will act in their own defense;no one doubts that.let face it Europoe is not capable as seen in the not so distant Bosnian sitution.

Proper nouns have a reason for existing, who in the hell are you referring to, short range conventional missiles from Gaza? Clearly the US isn't going to nuke anybody over conventional weapons, get real! Secondly, this is a proposal to reduce tensions so that Israel does feel a need to attack Iran which by the way would play hell with American policies in Iraq.

I understand that Israel is supposedly our ally and friend. I understand that they have a great deal of support here in the USA. What I don't understand is why they rate such loyalty and attention. We have many allies that have proven themselves to be equally if not more important. WE have many allies that are more loyal but receive far less aid. Why the preoccupation with a country who has in the past been less than loyal and quite possibly more than any other ally put us in difficult positions due to their actions.
I don't want to see Israel nuked. At the same time I also understand that Israel's interests are not always in the best interests to the USA. We screamed bloody murder when Russia invaded Georgia. But when Israel invaded Lebanon we took Israels side. How was Israel less wrong than Russia for basically responding exacly the same way for much the same reasons. One big difference is that the Russians killed far less civilians.
I am no fan of Russia and pretty much dislike them. I am a cold war warrior old habits die hard.
