they will get a $4,700 pay increase, amounting to an additional $2.5 million that taxpayers will spend on congressional

Why don't they do the same as what they asked of the CEO car makers and decline any raises ?

I am fully convinced that Congress people both Senate and House are there to look out for theirselves...as the old saying, "self serving".

Bush would not sign a bill for 5 billion dollars so that every child would have health insurance but our government funds the Corporate giants.

4 million jobs were lost under the Bush regime?

We are not represented, period. One day I hope the American taxpayer realizes this. Time to speak loudly and be heard.

The hypocricy never ends. They lecture the big 3 and yet they have failed an entire nation. Now they give themselves a pay raise. Yet another reason to vote against every encumbant in the next election.

The ONLY way this is going to change is under Obama's leadership - I believe he is truly a new breed of politician - one who cares about serving the country more than personal self-enrichment...

What we ALL can do is vote out of office those senators and congressmen who are known to be in it for themselves - there are plenty on both sides of the aisle...

Problem is, most people vote for their incumbents - and then spend the next 4 or 6 years complaining...

We voted our long-term incumbent congresswoman out in 2006 - other congressional districts should start doing the same.

We voted our long-term incumbent salesperson out in 2006 - other congressional districts should start doing the same.

Wow. I'm kinda unimpressed with your discovery. To think the reps and sens truly represent their constituency after the first couple of weeks of an elected term is just beyond the pale. Isn't there a bridge from London around Lake Havasu, anyway? Surprised the clown who bought it, moved it, and reset it didn't get his/her rep or sen to get you to pay for it all. Or did he/her?

And it's "themselves".

The time to speak out was long ago...but people think reindeer's sex , football games, goofy holidays, are much more important.....as was planned.
