What does the fact that your girlfriends are from southern California have to do with where you're from?

This is not a debate between the posters. In reality we lay out our thoughts and the many readers of this thread then compare their knowledge base with our thoughts and then form judgements. If they are not aware of what I write then they will concur with you. If they are familiar with what I say then they will concur accordingly. We have each given them enough to weigh and value jibberish or not.

The white south voted for McCain.

If anybody's living in denial, it's you.

they cant and never will accept the truth.. the south is now a republican stronghold as it was for the southern conservative democrats but at their distaste they began moving away from it when truman desegratged the US armed forces and strom thurmond and the Democrat delegates left out of the DNC ANGRILY,but even this wasnt the first chapter of distaste by southern conservatives who were deomcrats FDR wife was passionate about black civil rights too.

theres many chapters in which lead to the fallout of conservative idiots to the republican party and its evident in many of the campaigns of republicans by using states rights slogans as southern democrats/ dxiecrats aka states rights party did

I'm from Southern California as my girlfriends are as well. I guess I should have been more specific. So. Cal is not some redneck section of the country and I personally know several females (of different ethnicities) that vote GOP.

I think Newt is echoing the sentiment of many GOP members.

It is the holier then thou Liberal Democrats who made me a Republican and it was the right wing fringe that brought me to Obama. I would not have voted Hillary and had been a supporter of McCain in 2000 but this was not the same McCain. I think if certain posters are any indication then both parties have their own worse enemies within their ranks.

Agreed. Obama won because his campaign had a more positive tone to it than McCain's and there were too many questions about Palin's ability to serve as POTUS in the event that McCain does not make it through the next four years.
