That was my point entirely. Certain people put civil rights ahead of national security. The certain kind of liberal who would rather let 1000 Innocent Americans die, rather than violate 1 persons civil rights...

You are definitely in the minority here. I don't think many C-D members think those two (Wright and Ayers) are "fine human beings!"

Our founding fathers would be terrorists today. Imagine what would happen to Jefferson: all his statements about overthrowing the government, rebellion every generation is good, people should have arms to overthrow the government, states should secede if the government doesn't represent them...Gitmo for life for him!

Count me as one who despises government stepping on rights, no matter the excuse of the day. And I'm not a liberal either, unless you refer to the 18th century type (like Jefferson...).

Civil rights are ahead of national security - that was Patrick Henry's point. They are more important because a country without civil rights is not worth protecting. And they are especially more important than national security when the threat you are focusing on is terrorism.

I find it pathetic that so many "americans" are willing to give up liberty and civil rights for fake security against the very tiny and remote possibility of being killed by terrorists.

Again, I'm very happy that the pants-wetters are not in charge any more.

We had threads on each of them and yes a millions have no problem with them and thats why using them didn't work as anticipated. As Pat Buchanan said on MSNBC today the Counter Culture has now won albeit 35 years later.

You have to be a Weatherman to know which way the wind is blowing.

Keep in mind that Jefferson said and did all these things while living under a Monarchy...not a democracy

Well, she's smarter than Obama, and she's not a leftist or socialist like Obama. She knows what America is all about. Obama doesn't.

More of his life was lived in a democratic republic than a monarchy.

Having "no problem with them" and referring to them as "fine human beings" are two (very different) things.
