Weak. Still waiting for that explanation of how minority Democrats managed to block what have been described as Bush's desires for oversignt at Fannie Mae. Got anything on that?

My point proven right there.

This is an excellent post! Many (if not most) Obama supporters know little about him and have what are, IMO, very weak reasons for backing him. The actions of the Government the past several years (especially the past year) are taking us down a very dangerous past. Another great point this person made is that Obama is going to make a power grab. When times are tough, people get desperate and look for help. Government throws people a bone and, in so doing, gets EVEN MORE control than they already have. They already are too big and have too much control over our lives.

The last sentence is 100% correct. You have to be an absolute mindless sheep to think that it can NOT get worse (under any circumstances) than it was while W was President. If Obama loses in 2012 and things are worse at that time than they are now (both of which are possible), there is no way I would say that things can not get worse. Unemployment is 7.2% and it's much likely to get higher. One of the worst results of the Obama Presidency is inflation, perhaps to a high degree.

This is 100% accurate. The Dems actually had control of the Senate (Daschle as leader) as the one Senator (Jeffords ??) went Independent. They had a slight majority from 2002-04 and a fairly strong majority from 2004-06. The GOP edge in the house was consistent but fairly small (vs the Dem advantage now) from 2000-6.

You mean, while we still more or less had credit with our investors?

I thought low debt was good but now it seems that the higher you make the national debt the better.

I also dont get this depending on the gov to set your standard of living. My life has improved the past years.

Just b/c the debt went up from 2001-08, doesn't justify it going up EVEN MORE once Obama is President. How do the same mistakes that got us into the problem help us get out of them? They don't; they just make it WORSE!

Look at the nonsense that they are calling the recovery plan:
