How can you say Obama has been so incredibly far from perfect when he hasn't done anything bad for America yet? Of course hes gonna make mistakes, but he hasn't done anything to screw any of us over or make our lives harder. I mean you expect him to bail on his nominee the moment he hears some bad news just to look good for the cameras? No hes a man and stood by his decision until it was apparent that Daschle was too steeped in controversy to be a part of his administration, and even then he did it in the most compassionate way possible by letting him step down instead of rescinding his invitation. Obama showed great character and great poise in this speed bump on the way to change.

And the point of not having lobbyists in his administration is so there isn't a conflict of interest when it comes to handing out contracts or deciding who gets paid for what. Obama is making sure this happens, but some lobbyists make great politicians, so why would you be mad if made exceptions in those cases? Because he said something a while ago, he has to stick by it even if it means America loses out on a better politician? This isn't Bush, Obama isn't going to "stay the course" Hes going to adapt when new and unforseen situations arise, and change his plan when evidence showing it isn't the best comes to his attention.

I think the point of not having lobbyists in his administration was to NOT be like other administrations, with the APPEARANCE of collusion...

SO far the people he has chosen haven't worked out too well to dispel that.

I think it shows the more obvious problems campaign promises. Either that or an inability to judge the character of the people around him one or the other.

He has a very long history of not being able to judge the character of people around him. If you don't know the character of your preacher after many years, how can you know anyone?
