Who can we blame it on? All of us. We all contributed to the downfall. You can't blame it on any single President.
Can we turn it around? Sure, but not by sinking the country farther into debt. That solves nothing. History has already proven that.
The first thing we need to do is close the border and put American's back to work. We need to become a nation of producers not just consumers.

It was actually Clintons fault and liberals. Liberals are the ones who go crazy with their credit cards, and fancy homes. Conservatives work for what they get.

I know a lot of conservative, and I have yet to meet one who bought their car, there home or sent their kids through college by paying cash. And, of all the small business owners that I know, not a single one purchases inventory by paying case on the barrel head.

where do you get these ridiculous ideas?????? Do you have ANYTHING whatsoever to back up your statement? All liberals can't be on welfare sitting around playing video games all day AND live in fancy homes. You make no sense.

Okay, not so many illegals in Ketchikan at the moment. But last summer I swore I saw a couple down at EC Phillips.
|
I'm not sure that surprises me from Phillips but how can you be sure?

You're not serious. You don't honestly believe that the shape the economy is in falls on the shoulders of the Republicans alone. If you do, then you're simply not doing your homework.
Barney Frank just to name one. As someone said above, this was a long time coming. And no one complained about it while they watched house prices soar to amounts that were ridiculous in the extreme. We moved here in 2000 and watched as our home increased in "value" over 100% in just over 4 years.
I knew it wasn't real. I knew how the greedy of the world made this happen. I just wasn't smart enough to see what the far reaching effect would be when it all came crashing down, but there was no doubt in my mind that it would come crashing down. And there's blame to be spread all over the place and it trickles right on down to people just like you and me who weren't smart enough, or who didn't care, to know they were getting in way over their head.
Even now, when we're supposedly in "the worst of times" most of the people have no clue what real hardship is (I'm not saying no one does). My idea of hardship isn't going to McDonalds (profits up 80%) for an "affordable" meal. My idea of hardship is wondering if you can afford a can of baked beans or peas at the local grocery store.
So Obama has started the mantra of how low we are, how bad it is and how much worse it's going to get. He's setting us up, folks. I know a set up when I see it. Play it down as low as you can, keep using those words "Great Depression" to scare the you know what out of everyone so that everyone will come to believe that the government has to get us out of this rather than letting US get us out of this.
He may fool some of the people some of the time, but no way he's fooling all the people all the time. And as time goes on, little by little, more and more Americans will finally see that they have been manipulated big time.
Nothing wrong with a little manipulation; don't get me wrong. But it's good to recognize it when you see it and be a wise consumer

This recession or whatever it is that we're in right now is real, at least in parts of the country.
