Ah, hmmm. I believe that we the consumers pay those taxes, Exxon just collects them and sends them on.

You mean to tell us that your employers taxes are equivalent to your salary or at least the majority of your cost to the company? How strange.

Then you ought to be even more pissed at the government for taking YOUR money through these taxes.

And um... if I were you I'd revisit the Great Depression.. one of the problems was the government DIDN'T act and finally when FDR came into office he started acting and getting things going again.

Had BUsh stemmed the foreclosure crisis 8 months ago by action vs. inaction we might not be in as deep as we are....

Wanted to not loose control of the country on the ticket.. then perhaps you shouldn't have (you meaning the Republicans) left the country in the mod cut!!
You tell them! I found out that I can go bankrupt and a judge can rule that I only have to pay 50,000 of the 250,000 that I owe on my home. It's called a cram down. Kind of like what Obama is craming down our throats. I'm thinking if I quit my job and bankrupt my house and credit cards I can stay in my 3300 square foot home in my nice neighborhood and not have to work anymore. I didn't think I could retire this early but Obama is making it possible. I will also get free healthcare. What's better than all this? Obama is my hero! He cares for us.

The sad fact is that although those comments were made tongue in cheek, you're not all that far off from reality.
