You need to uncement your head. The banks didn't one day just fail. It was all from greed, people living far above their means, the housing bubble most of all brought about the bank problems.

Easy credit, housing loans given to people who had no ability to pay their mortgages. Far too much spending. Too much credit, too much irresponsibility and fraud.

That's why more spending, spending trillions more dollars that we don't have will not solve the problem.

These politicians are really idiots.

In the past, they could pull off this type of thing because their constituents were too dumb to know what was going on -- but now we have the INTERNET! And that means their constituents are a lot smarter than they think they are.

Republicans act like fools at their own peril!

That's telling the Fed "how it is"!!!!!
I really think that you would like California, Southside Chicago or NY better than Greenville, the political filth is so much prettier this time of year.

I hear that Gov Crist of FL is also taking the money. If those GOP idiots really do refuse the money, and their people suffer, the idiots are just signing their own political death warrants.
Well folks, the spinning is over. The clown-assed Governor of SC was the last holdout, but as of today, Sanford and all of the GOP holdouts now are taking the stimulus money and running with it. Told ya so. You betcha.

Excerpts from the news item:

- South Carolina's Republican governor will break his political logjam with the White House over stimulus funds today, becoming the last governor in the nation to officially seek billions of dollars in federal economic recovery funds.

- Gov. Mark Sanford will announce at a 1 p.m. news conference that he will comply with today's critical deadline for governors to claim the money allocated by Congress and President Obama in the $787 billion stimulus bill, ...

Agree. If he doesn't run for Federal office, any re-election for GOV will be just as tough.

Not as hard as it would have been had he stuck to his original plan not to take the money - that's why he changed his mind.
What a dufus.

So all this talk about not accepting the money was just political posturing? When push came to shove, he took it!
