Obama was very good, struck the right tone.

Jindel sounded like he was running for class president, is that how he always talks? Very weak rebuttal (perhaps an impossible tasked, but still...)

How can you have a strong rebuttal when the tape is stuck on loop.

Tax cut... beep, Tax cut... beep, Tax cut... beep, Tax cut... beep!

I didn't hear the part of the speech about printing more money to pay for these things. Do you really think people who make over $250,000 a year are going to cover the cost of these spendaholic programs with their taxes?

If you owe a lot of money on your credit card, do you think it's a great idea to keep spending more? Then why do you think it's okay for the government to do it with your money?

All of this is engineered and has been planned for a long time by the very people you despise. Perhaps you should start reading up on The Bilderberg Group and I'm not talking about their Press Releases either.

All the same Diarrhea that I've heard from many to most politicians before to not do anything TO REALLY HELP AMERICANS ALL THE WAY THROUGH ON ONE THING.
Example: Yeah about $13.00/week more in ones average paycheck but the Bush payroll deduction will expire therefore we'll be paying more than that $13.00/week so a NET INCREASE - so where's the help? "Convenient" for him not to mention that hmmm...????

It was an excellent address. How I felt afterwards must have been how many Republicans felt after a Reagan address back in the day.

"It's great to be an American"

Ideologically speaking, it was perfect. I will admit it lacked a few specifics (which will obviously and rightly be worked out in the war-rooms and not on national TV), but man, the speech itself made me proud of my country - recovery or no recovery. Values and vision are bigger than that.

You make over $250,000 a year? If not you are blowing smoke.

Come on!
How many of those standing ovations do you really think were spontaneous????
You could practically 'see' the "STAND"..."APPLAUD" cue cards in the air.
I was 'aqpplauding' the ones honest enough to stay seated after the first two or three times

Standing O's are a standard congressional procedure - and a pretty stupid one at that. No one is arguing on that. It's the content of the address and the presence of the speaker that many of us are very pleased with.

The speech was supercool ... wish he would have worn those sunglasses he wore on his playdate to the middle east last summer.

Obama IS NOT going to continue with the Bush Tax Cuts when they expire so that equals paying more - it's not hard to understand that.
