Sounds like jealousy and class warfare!!! ....from the righties!!!!!!!!!!

If someone else is going to do the dirty work (that's part of owning a pet, you know), why bother to get one at all? They might as well borrow a dog for them.

Besides, once they're out of the White House, who's going to want to bother with the dog? Oh, I get it, they can conveniently dump it once they get it in their own home. Like the Clinton's did with Socks.
Might've known a repub "but Clinton!" would pop up in a thread on the Obamas getting a dog....how typical.

AND: the Clinton's did NOT(you lied) "dump" their cat...she was living with the woman who had worked for the Clintons and already cared for the cat...AND Socks lived a happy , comfy, LONG life

That, and the other suggestion "bushie", is an insult to dogs who are all much smarter than Georgie...except maybe this poodle my Aunt had ...ya, I'll admit Georgie might have been a tad smarter than that blankety blank poodle.....

My aunt has a huge black oaf of a poodle named Moose. It definitely fits him, he's super cute. He gets the "puppy cut" and looks kind of like a Portuguese Water Dog when his hair grows out a bit. I really want a black Standard Poodle named Moose someday.

The dog will run away the first chance he gets. Although I can see him being like "Dinkums" in National Lampoons Family vacation. Shredding the presidents pants leg. Or Obama telling the press the dog was locked in the Lincoln bedroom because he had the ****s last night.
