Default Maybe it's time for the Rs to stop listening to W. Kristol

This a**hat just doesn't get it. His latest column (WaPo-Feb 26th) is a collection of the usual denunciations of Obama, he's "ambitious" (really?) his failure to talk about any of Bush's "efforts" (not accomplishments as there were none), his failure to discuss 9/11 (FTW, do we need to talk this up every time someone gets in front of a microphone) and his vow to not only "revive this economy but to builda foundation for lasting prosperity".

Well gosh darn it, who would possibly want a "foundation for lasting prosperity". I guess to Kristol, Krauthammer, and the rest of the big money boys that smacks of some kind of "socialist" (because that's now their favority word for anything Obama proposes) idea like good, well paying jobs for lots of folks.

His "big" idea for how Rs can fight Obama is to somehow make sure they can get a hearing for their opposition to the "big government/nanny state, social engineering" that Obama represents.

Really Bill? You sir are an idiot. The reason that Rs are in the shi**er now is because they kept relying on the Atwater/Rove strategy of just demonizing anything and everything D with scary (COMPLETELY MEANINGLESS) catch phrases like this.

Come to think of it, I hope the Rs just keep going down the same path of listening to this a**hat and putting forth the same empty suits like Jindal and Boehner and empty heads like Palin and Huckabee.

The conservative movement seems to breed people like Kristol. To get ahead in the conservative movement, you don't need to be intelligent in the traditional sense. Of course their leaders are smart enough. But they are smart in a devious way - smart in the way that a good used car salesman is smart. Smart in a way that allows them to frame issues really well, but not able to solve problems at all. That's why they worship Rush and Coulter. That's why empty suits like Bush and Boehner get ahead. That's why criminals like Delay, Cheney, and Rove get so far in their party.

Perhaps it's the fact that their underlying philosophy is so repugnant to the average American that great salesmanship is the most highly valued skill. Or it's in their diet maybe.

Not diet but culture. A culture of greed is good and what is mine is mine and what is yours is up for grabs.

I hope they run a JINDAL/DUKE/PALIN Ticket in 2012. That would really appeal to their base.

I'm so glad Kristol is not on the editorial page of the NYT any more. He was not a worthy replacement for Safire. I didn't agree with Safire most of the time, but at least he could write. That said, we do owe a debt of gratitude to Kristol for the gift of Sarah Palin.

The odd thing about the GOP is that even after they shoot themselves in the collective foot, they keep aiming the gun at the same appendage and hope the bullet doesn't end up in the same place--and it always does.

They pull the SocialistBigGovernmentTaxincrease stuff out of their Planet Uranus and expect everyone to just go along. Well, sorry, 8 years of that sh** was enough, thank you very much.

Case in Point: Gov. Jindall.

According to Kristol, the only game plan the repubs have is to obstruct and delay. They have no alternative plans. Some other repub clown criticized Obama for not talking about foreign policy first in his speech. Code for Obama's not patriotic.

I wonder how many of their "knee-jerk" responses are going to hit them in the a$$.

Duke as in David Duke? He was in the LA state legistlature for a few years back in the early 90's. By comparison Robert KKK Byrd has been a Democrat Senator for for the past 50 years... I guess he is the guy that appeals to the Democrat base...

Do you know the difference between a person who is still a white supremecist and one who has recanted and apologized?

And do you understand the difference between making a decent point and throwing out a stupid talking point?

He is someone who appeals to his constituents in West Virginia. I am not sure if he is someone that appeals to the Democratic base across America.

I believe that he has also apologized for benig a Klan member in the past and it appears that he has evolved into someone different then who he was when he was younger.
