When did he extend it to 19 months?

If he needs to extend it - he needs to extend it. He shouldn't keep it at 16 if 16 doesn't work in the best way for our country and troops. Common sense.

Correction it was 18 months.

The Associated Press: Obama announces 18-month troop withdrawal schedule

I'm just pointing out you people that voted for him don't even keep up with what he says or does!

Just another case of back peddaling, a common Obama tactic. Has big opinions about issues he hasn't investigated and then needs to change his mind. Happens frequently.
Did you honestly expect anything different?

Like I said, if things are changing and he needs to extend it - it should be extended. Rather than stubbornly trying to stick to a date, he should be handling the withdrawal in whatever manner is safest to our troops.

If Obama promised 16 months... then months later after being elected, discussed it with his advisers in the Military, and they advised 18 months (a whopping 2 month difference), you think he should stick to 16 months?

This is not exactly a big change. 2 months. 2 years would be another story.

Nothing has changed, he is just now finding out he just maybe doesn't know everything.

Really? Because of a two month difference? Like I said, two years would be evidence of that. Two months is within a reasonable margin.

He would have put "The Pet Goat" down and excused himself, ordered the invasion and bombing of Afghanistan, left Iraq the hell alone, caught Bin Laden and dismantled al Qaeda, fired Haliburton AND Blackwater, and arrived home in time for dinner.

Over 4,000 families would never have had to bury their sons and daughters.

Next question.

He has provided a date for military operations in Iraq to end and put a plan in place for that to happen. I don't see how a 2 month difference is him going back on his word.
