Offering anything other than:

The stim is bad
Obama is a socialist

Seriously, between exploiting 13 year olds at CPAC and having the George Hamilton of Congress sprewing this that and the other thing ... what concrete alternatives have they offered up?

I haven't heard any. All they do is sully for the talking point of the day. Last week it was debt for our grandkids ... what will it be this week. Methinks it's going to be more S-bombs (as outlined in the NYT over the weekend).

Well, the so-called stimulus, as written, is bad. Obama has proposed a budget and policies that are socialist leaning. The rest is details.

Republicans have offerred choices and other plans, only to be ignored.

Why was it OK for the looney left to call Bush and Cheney all kinds of names, ascribe evil motives, accuse them of planning and executing the 9/11/01 attacks as an inside job, accuse them of having shadowy motives in Iraq, talk about "war crimes" trials, and on and on and on?

Did those folks sound like 13 year olds to you as well?

When George Hamilton Boehner and Eric Can't-or get up that and say "wahhh wahhh, we offered we offered" ... well, what DID you offer??? Seriously, let us know. But you know what? The Conservapublican party doesn't want to let us know what they offered because an informed populace doesn't win elections for them.

Again, you said that they offered other solutions only to be ignored by those meanie democrats (and 3 republicans in the senate).. do you know what they were????

There must be some sort of software that can post the following message as an answer to any particular question raised about Obama.

"Well, the so-called stimulus, as written, is bad. Obama has proposed a budget and policies that are socialist leaning."

This would save the Republicans a lot of time and effort since that is about the sum total of the argument.

The GOP has nothing to offer, has nobody worthy enough to offer to us, and has no future as it now exists. They deserve to end up in the garbage pail of history, and hopefully they'll take the idiot televangelist wingnuts with them.

OK...and the bright ideas from Democrats come down to their playbook of a few cliches, most of which rely on class warfare or giving away free stuff to the masses.

Hmmmm. There are quite a few new ideas in the playbook since last season but all the opposition wants to talk about is socialism, and birth certificates. Now in such an environment why on earth would any sane person attempt to engage others in a real and constructive conversation about:
  • investment in energy technology when the conversation is going to be hijacked by the "global warming is a scam" crowd

  • investment in education, when the thread is going to be bogged down with the, "why should people have to pay for the education of other people's children" argument.

Just to name two issues on the Democratic agenda.

Seriously, what is the point of trying to discuss any issue with the kinds of vocal Republicans that inhabit this small part of the world?

Sort of like the Democratic version of: Bush did it.

And an important argument it is!

(btw, they're not 'socialist leaning'. They ARE socialist.)

Just wait. The consumer will end up reaching deep into the pocket to pay for energy. As for educating other people's children, I haven't heard that objection. What I do hear is "why should people have to pay for education that is indoctrination and is wasteful." People wouldn't mind so much if they were allowed a choice with vouchers for private schools. What are democrats afraid of, that they won't give parents that choice?
