I believe that things work best if one party does not control all of the government. The Clinton years were good, and I believe the Democratic executive, the Republican Legislative, and the mixed judicial system balanced each other. Things went terribly wrong the next eight years when the Republicans controlled everything. I am a bit concerned with Congress right now because some of the extreme liberals think that they can push their agenda since we have a Democratic president. I like for there to be a balance so that things will be pushed toward moderation so that neither the far right or the far left have complete control. I believe President Obama will not let the extreme left highjack the government. It is early. We will see.
By the way, if the government has to be either extreme right or left, I prefer the extreme left.
How exactly do you promise not to "win" Congress? You know, since Congress is made up of representatives voted on by their districts? So the majority of Congress is just the party that won more of those individual races voted on by different people. I don't want someone dictating who MY representative is based on the outcome of a national election. All politics are local, afterall. I believe in democracy.

So close for a Rep point and then the last sentence killed it.
