Welcome to the sane side Arlen!

He was already giving the Dems his votes so what does this change?

One RINO down a few more to go.

Yes we agree, hopefully at least 2 in the Senate and maybe a few more. Are there any in the house you want to send to Nancy P?

Here's Arlen's voting record: Arlen Specter on the Issues

I love that argument. He's a "RINO". You do realize that's just another way Republicans say "He had a mind of his own and we didn't like that."

This is very bad news for the Republicans. He is most definitely more moderate than conservative. Moderate leaning Republicans are leaving the party in droves. I suppose it's nice to have a political party where everybody has the exact same values and stances. Problem is, these types of political parties don't win many elections. Unless something changes quickly, the Republicans will be 100 percent this type of a party.

Tea leaves! LOL. That's pretty rich.

The party of "the big tent" has become the party of the pup tent; Specter was one of the few Republicans with gravitas. Bravo to him for putting the US above the RW.

Hey if you want more republicans to convert to dems in the Senate? Sure, I admire your philosophy of wanting to sign your own party's death certificate..Fine by me..

He admits he's putting his re-election infront of anything, but nice try with the bashing, you looked so cool at it provided you ignore facts...

Arlen Specter is and has always been a decent man. He puts his country above his party and when he saw that his part was willing to destroy his country with their obstructionist, destructive behavior he made the only choice he could.

To the Republican party today, yes he is. To reasonable people, he is not a Democrat.
