I have it on very good inside information that Newt Gingrich is about to announce his switch to the Democratic party...

In his own words: "Why would I want to be associated with a bunch of extreme-right-wing religious-nutcases that make Torquemada, Grand Inquisitor of the Spanish Inquisition, seem like a moderate??? Who thinks anyone can win running on the same side as these shmucks!!!... The Republican party is Doo Doo!!! I'm sick and tired of stepping in their c-r-a-p up to my neck... I'm out of here...

Any more care to abdicate <cough, cough> Ms Snowe?

And what does this welcome say to the actual Democrats that will run against him in the primary that are getting the shoo-shoo from fellow Democrats, now that Arlen Spectacle is on board?

First, never look a gift-horse in the mouth... Spectre will easily glide to victory in the Pennsylvania general election.... the DNC realizes this... as do most Democrats ... and they rightly welcome him aboard with open arms...

Go Spectre!!!

Give that man an Obama poster he can post in his office, and an Obama lapel pin that he can prowdly wear!!!

Longtime GOP Sen. Arlen Specter becomes Democrat - CNN.com

That and that he finds himself philosophically at odds with the GOP. Better to be a sheep than a lemming headed rapidly toward the edge of the flat earth.

Lemmings are in the rodent family and sheep are incredible dumb and follow blindly. That accurately describes our 2 party system. I am just glad that I am neither.

The Republicans' Paranoid Style - THE WEEK
The evidence that Spectors rationality in leaving is that the GOP because the party has moved is hogwash.... is....

The GOP does not elect him, the citizens in his district do....

So its Spector pandering to the Democrats now, the very same ones who have elected him for 29 years in order to obtain re-election because the CITIZENS WONT elect him as a Republican.

I think its funny to think that when someone cant win an election as a Republican they need to become a Democrat, why is that? Democrats obviously have lower standards..

I guess Spector is admitting that Republicans have higher standards, obviously he needs to switch to the party that will elect him simply based upon that little D next to his name, not on qualifications.. At least Spector could claim to be qualified..

Good riddance to him. He basically is a Democrat anyway, he votes with them as much or more than his own party.
