One word: Fear.

If you took away fear, none of them would have listened. But when they were warned that Saddam had nuclear weapons, that Al Qaeda was hiding behind every bush, that we had to torture people to remain safe, the herd listened and obeyed

Apparently, they loved his use of words he himself coined.

Don't Blacks and Latinos get criticized for "creating slang"?

Ooh another liberal making an unfounded accusation and then creating criticizism..

Who claimed he was an effective speaker?

Unlike Democrats, I prefer to research facts, not just vote on someone ability to "speak"..

Supporting George Bush often had little to do with him personally. It often had to do with the hideous alternatives.

Actually Bush had a unique ability to never make someone feel insecure nor feel like someone was condescending to them. He did use fear-based messages but the folksy way he delivered them made him seem like a concerned uncle or brother, which worked on a certain number of people for awhile. Sarah Palin has a very similar dynamic going for her but instead of fear, her messages tap into a sense of anger.

So now that Barack is President, there's not a single terrorist group that wants to bomb America?

You can live your life without fear of another attack. I don't live my life in fear.

But other attacks are being planned.

The problem is that the Democratic Party seems to act as if it doesn't matter.
