After a severe drubbing in the polls in November, a failure to have a Republican replace Hillary's senate replacement in a district with a Republican majority and after RNC head Steele told them not to, the RNC figures a little name-calling is always appropriate.

"You might have thought rank-and-file Republicans learned their lesson after their invocations of Joe the Plumber failed to halt Barack Obama’s march to the presidency. Apparently not. It looks as though the Republican National Committee won't, as planned, vote on a resolution to request that the Democratic Party rename itself the “Democrat Socialist Party” at the RNC's (ironically very Soviet-sounding) extraordinary special session today. Instead, CNN reports, the resolution on the table now merely condemns "the Democrats' march to socialism." Oh, that's all."

PostPartisan - Democrat Party! Socialism! Karl Marx!

Way to go guys.

Let us hope the RNC keeps concentrating on the important things like name calling and doctrinal purity.

Treat the GOP with love. A few more months of the current clown, and you'll all be registering Republican.
I'm suprised so many of you are sticking with dumbo, after watching him screw up time after time for several months now, but hey, if you were smart, you wouldn't be democrats...

Hmm...

If Republicans are smarter than Democrats, why'd they lose the election?

just curious....

They can win any election any time they want to. Any fool knows that, and many here will tell you so.

One of these days, they'll pull one of their "real conservatives" out of his box, and POW! Watch out, Democrats.

If you say so... and I thought smartness and intelligence couldn't be "claimed" but reflected in thoughts and, in this case, posts. I must have missed a lot!

yes Republicans are so smart they lost two elections! Now to make things worse they write a resolution calling the Dems "Socialists" and you should have read the wording! It was like an elementary school kid wrote it with phrases such the Dems are moving us toward a European system & making us more "French" like! They should write a manual entitled: 'How to lose 2 elections while alienating the American electorate!"

I prefer balance of Power. If there is a democrat in the white house, I want the legislature to be mostly republicans. If there is a republican in the whitehouse we need to have the democrats in charge of the legislature. When you have one party controlling both, there is time for madness a foot. That is the way our forefathers constructed the country and I think it works best. Let them fight and get little done. That protects our pocketbooks. Otherwise, watch out. Scoundrels abound!!

Balance of power would work great if everyone was working towards the same goal.

If one party is nothing more than obstructionists, screw em - they bring nothing.
