Don't be too sure of that. Why do you think Christie Whitman won twice?

Jersey voters are cloned jackasses.

I'm glad you agree that no matter Republican or Democrate, we will vote in a Jackass. I guess thats why Whitman won twice.

I do not believe it is simply demographic change...Texas experienced even more demographic (racial/ethnic) change without its political leaning changing too much. What happened? I do not believe it is the secular nature of the northeat...many states out west are secular but can still be for the GOP or are swing states. What happened in NJ?

Several reasons,

- Car Insurance rates
- Property Taxes
- Education
- Transportation
close proximity to New York.

No Governor since Bradley, has been able to rectify the failure of schools or the high property taxes.

Aside from McGreevy's being a miserable excuse for a human being, worse than Whitman could ever have been, and who was rewarded with pity, fame and fortune for being a perjuring scumbag who distributed favors to his lover while lying to both his wife and the people of his state, all because he was a Democrat, nothing.

What does McGreevey being on Oprah have to do with This discussion of democrats voting for both Democrats and Republicans. If the reasoning for the Oprah statement was to vent on McGreevey history, well then mission accomplished, if not I'm still lost

NJ's political house and methods of operation are beyond broken at this point. A change in political party at the Governorship level will do nothing to remedy its many problems.

On the former governors, maybe Howard Stern could start up Dial-A-Date and fix up Jim McGreevey and Larry Craig. What a couple!!!
