Socialism definition:
any of various economic and political theories or social systems based on collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

Sounds like Obama to me.

Fascism definition:
a political philosophy, movement or regime advocating nationalism and racial superiority, a centralized dictatorial regime, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

Given the chance, Obama and his friends, thinking that they know what's best for "the people", would let power go even more to their heads, and dictate every facet of your life. It is not too much of a stretch to imagine Democrats as dictators when you consider their proposed mandates.

It seems to me that the only ones making fools of themselves are the people that believe Barack's B.S.

i reflect on my own silence for past 8 years and consider focusing on the issues instead of the personality.

While I do not agree with how much the administration is dictating the actions of companies, temporarily propping up the last of our manufacturing base is a FAR cry from the Venezuelan-style government run industries.

Let's stop being hyperbolic about all of this.

no substance to this statement. Just irrational fear based on your adherence to a different ideology.

Sometimes we need conservatism - until it grows too bloated and powerful and corrupt (which is what happened over the past 8 years). Then we need a shot of liberalism to balance it out until that becomes too bloated.

Hopefully Republicans will pick up seats in 2010 and Obama will govern in much the way Clinton did - which is statistically most successful model (Democratic president and Republican congress).

Geez give the guy a break. He's just trying to finish what the Dictator Bush didn't have enough time to.

And the answer to your question: What can we do? We are just mere peasants with no power. We are helpless while that govt shreads our rights and freedoms to ribbons.

The 2010 elections must be used to send a message to Obama and all in congress that we will not stand to have our freedoms diminished and will not keep in office anyone that believes in a "big brother" government.

The unprecedented grab for power must be stopped and those in government that simply run for office to further their own agendas must be removed. Email, phone calls, tea parties, marches on the capitol, whatever gets the message across, is what needs to be done.

Silence will result in a sad state of affairs that may take decades to overcome. Obama seems to think that turning the USA into a third world country will be a good thing, but the
"community organizer" mindset is unacceptable to a nation that has always valued liberty and independence.

The phrase "the American way" has always stood for something to be proud of - unless Obama succeeds in his goals. Under this administration "the American way" will stand for a nation of sheep that worship at the feet of a government that controls every facet of their lives. We must not let this happen.

This is a pretty rational response.

I think Americans have plenty to worry about concerning the Obama administration ( czars included ) and the arrogance of Pelosi and the rest.

Government under Democrats is expanding at such a speed that one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. All at taxpayer expense. They are spending at ridiculous rates.

Under Obama, as part of the stimulus plan, taxpayers just spent 3.7 million dollars on cheese and ham, at twice the normal price, to stock soup kitchens. Cheese? Democrats are proposing sin taxes on food that is according to them, bad for you.

A little less dictation about how I handle my own health care, please.

A little less intrusion into my life, please.

If there were ever a time for a shot of conservatism, now is the time.

Cap & trade. Apology tours around the world. On and on. I can't in good conscience vote for this kind of crap.

What can we do? The folks in Congress don't listen.

Pitchforks? Well -- I wish.

Similarly, the stock market tanked the day Reagan was inaugurated.

That seemed to work out in the long run. Obama's inheriting runaway conservatism (Reagan inherited runaway liberalism). So, I suspect he will do what's necessary to balance things out and could go down as a really great president for the specific needs of a specific time.

So far, he's on the right path.

Fleet, you know the Dow dropt damn well to around 6,500. And around then, people like you kept us up all day and all night with that relentless howling of hungry wolves.
