Default 2008 Rudy Giuliani campaign ad...

(Actor impersonating Hillary Clinton)...

"Hello there, citizens. It is time for you to realize the truth. The truth that the immigrants coming across our borders are in fact aliens in a very literal sense of the word... aliens, not from other countries but from outer space. They have come to feed off of your brainpower and gradually reduce the country into a land of mindless imbeciles as they consume what they need for sustenance. I am their representative and Osama Bin Laden is their leader. We shall leave after we have removed all brains from your puny human planet. Vote for me for I am destined to rule you all.. .. mmuahahaha"

(Actor impersonating Bill Clinton)...

"That's right hunah heheheheheh yew jis get up in that awfis an do whatever it is yer talkin about an all take cara ma own bisness. Heheheh."
----------------------------------------------------------------

(Voice of Rudy Giuliani):

"Remember, America, a vote for Hillary is a vote for brainsucking Martians. For the good of society I urge you to vote Republican."

--- Paid for by the Republican National Convention

(Will attack ads in this country eventually get to this point? Anywhere close? It will be awesome if they do.)

Personally, I'd like to see the campaign ad banned altogether. It's a vapid, shallow, and very misleading way to learn about candidates. They serve no constructive purpose whatsoever.

Is it safe to say you view conservatives as evil or stupid people? Or both?

If you like attack ads, then you don't like the truth. Personal attacks and falsehoods go hand in hand. I believe that no one running for office should be allowed to mention the incumbent or the other candidates in their literature or websites, only in face-to-face debates. That seems fair. They should limit the campaign to addressing the issues, their ideas, and pending or passed legislation. Failure to abide by simple rules of civility will get them removed from the ballot. One may not like the candidate personally just like one may not like a coworker, but if they're doing a good job, their personal attributes are meaningless for the task at hand. Again, if the attack ads appeal to you, you have reduced the importance of free elections to the level of Monday Night Raw.

Actually I view conservatives as benevolent geniuses who hold the key to unlocking the vast secrets and mysteries of both known and unknown, shimmering rays of hope in a time of the evils of gay people having equal rights and countries that don't like us still in existence, having yet to have been righteously bombed.

Sometimes it's fun to be a dick, I apologize.

Attack ads are a low class turn-off for me. I agree with you. Ads should address the specifics of a candidate's platform, view of the future etc. but that would have them run the risk of having to stick to their guns in the future.

And that takes takes courage and honesty. Especially if their popularity and political career is at stake.
